Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for managing all facets of production within the Back-Side Coating, Hard Coating, Hi-Vision, and Anti-Reflective areas through effective planning directing, coordinating, and controlling of employees’ activities. This position assumes the responsibility of ensuring all quality and customer needs are met.
General Description:
- Participation in the concept development/implementation and construction of a corrosion protection center for offshore foundation structures
- Development and optimization of the processes for the coating process
- Creation of process descriptions for the individual process steps (e.g. washing, substrate pretreatment, spray metallization, organic coating, markings, controls, and acceptance)
- Preparation of acceptance papers (documentation) for corrosion protection work
- Contact person for all topics of corrosion protection (approvals, design, coating materials, application of coating materials)
Corrosion protection engineer/ Production preparation
- Management of the production area
- Investment planning and implementation
- Budget planning for personnel and material costs
- Coordination of personnel, machine, and material availability based on production and equipment orders
- Ensuring smooth manufacturing processes to maintain the delivery capability
- Support and instruction of employees as well as coordination of specialist tasks
- Planning and implementation of work and safety instructions
- Participation in the recruitment of new employees regarding the requirement profile, the suitability assessment, and the working conditions
- Conducting employee appraisals
- Control of proper maintenance and adherence to test intervals
- Examination and evaluation of customer requirements regarding corrosion protection measures
- Support in the coating-appropriate design of components incl. Testing and optimization of coating systems
- Control of the coating specifications of the subcontractors for compliance with the customer and EEW specifications
- Preparation of technical opinions regarding corrosion protection work
- Technical contract support from the offer phase to the end of the warranty incl. Tender review of subcontractors
- Creation of purchasing specifications for corrosion protection
- Development of corrosion protection concepts for monopiles
- Preparation of production and acceptance papers
- Damage analysis.
- Conducting internal and external audits
- Support in the introduction of technical innovations
Qualifications and Work Experience required:
- Successfully completed university education in a technical field (surface technology and corrosion protection)
- 5-10 years of professional experience in heavy corrosion protection
- Completed further training as a recognized coating inspector Level III (NS 476 FROSIO CERTIFIED or NACE) desirable
- Confident handling of common MS Office programs
