Electrical – Control Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Understand and correctly apply the standards, regulations, processes, and related information for specialized design work
• Execute design tasks to ensure compliance with applicable standards, technical requirements, plans, and ensure project quality and professional appropriateness
• Coordinate with Project Teams in the design work and handle issues arising related to design during project implementation; review and update documents from suppliers into design drawings, report progress of assigned tasks
• Prepare project design documents as assigned by superiors, including but not limited to the following tasks
  • Create a design documentation list (Engineering Deliverable List) corresponding to the project scale and phase;
  • Prepare a list of quantities for measurement and control equipment from process flow diagrams
  • Design and describe the technical characteristics of measurement and control equipment
  • Develop measurement and control block diagrams
  • Create cause & effect diagrams
  • Design layout drawings for measurement equipment, junction boxes & control panels
  • Design cable route and cable tray diagrams
  • Prepare installation diagrams for measurement and control equipment
  • Layout drawings of control equipment in the control room
  • Telecommunication system drawings
  • Design Process Control System (PCS)
  • Design Safety Instrumented System (SIS), Fire & Gas System (F&G), camera systems
  • Calculate, design, and select suitable equipment and materials for electrical supply and distribution systems, lighting, earthing, lightning protection; cathodic protection systems
  • Design Philosophy
  • Technical Specifications: Electrical equipment, panels, cables, generators, UPS, transformers, transfer switches, etc.
  • Equipment Datasheets: Electrical panels, cables, generators, UPS, transformers, transfer switches, other equipment, etc.
  • Sizing: Electrical equipment, panels, cables, generators, UPS, transformers, transfer switches, etc.
  • Calculations: Load consumption, cable sizing, lighting levels, earthing – lightning protection
  • Drawings: Single-line diagrams, control system diagrams, equipment layout drawings, wiring layout drawings, cable ladder and tray layout drawings, earthing – lightning protection drawings, lighting layout drawings, etc.
• Draft documents and technical materials for procurement, breakdown of materials and equipment (MTO), procurement specifications (TRD), participate in technical assessment of equipment during design and construction, manage technical information of equipment packages from suppliers (VDR).
• Develop 3D models for the control section
• Support the establishment of pre-commissioning, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and servicing procedures for the control system (upon request)
• Build efficient software systems, establish databases (database) for the specialty
• Collaborate in estimating construction costs within the assigned design scope
• Coordinate with other teams, departments, and divisions in tasks related to the specialty
• Take on job positions in specific projects as assigned by the Head of the Industrial Division and perform duties according to the job description in the projects
• Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Department/Division leadership

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Graduated from university in majors such as mechanical engineering, mechatronics, pipeline engineering, machine manufacturing, or equivalent.
• Possess solid foundational knowledge in the field, standard technical specifications of the industry, and experience in design and engineering for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities, chemical plants, and industry.
• English: TOEIC 600 or equivalent
  • English Communication: Fluent.
  • Technical English: Ability to understand specialized documents.
• Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AutoCAD, mechanical and pipeline design software (PVElite, Ceasar II, etc.).
• Problem-solving skills, skills in evaluation/presentation/ public speaking,
• Knowledge and application of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 quality management systems
• Skills in calculation and execution of drawings
• Skills in building 3D models and using software
• Teamwork skills
