Mechanical – Pipeline Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Understand and apply the correct standards, norms, procedures, and related information for professional design work; Perform design tasks to ensure compliance with applicable standards, technical requirements, plans, ensuring project quality, and professional relevance
  • Perform mechanical design work – pipelines, storage tanks, heating equipment, pressure and mechanical structures; coordinate with Project Departments involved in the design process and address issues arising related to the design during project implementation; review and update documentation from suppliers into the design drawings, report on assigned work progress.
  • Prepare project design documents as assigned by superiors, including but not limited to the following tasks:
    • Create a design documentation list (Engineering Deliverable List) corresponding to the scale and phase of the project
    • Create general layout drawings for equipment/pipelines/piping routes
    • Perform 3D modeling of structures
    • Calculate and design for pipeline systems, technical requirements (datasheets) for pipelines, valves, and pressure equipment, pipe support systems
    • Develop construction procedures (for complex items); hydraulic testing, trial runs, and testing of pipeline systems, piping routes, pressure equipment within the scope of work
    • Create technical specification sheets for technological equipment; draft documents, technical materials for procurement, material and equipment breakdown (MTO), procurement specification (TRD), technical information management of equipment packages (VDR), participate in technical assessment of equipment during design, construction
    • Prepare operation/maintenance manuals
    • Perform calculations for pipe wall thickness, stress analysis for pipelines, analyze stability, deflection, calculate expansion, installation options, construction of pipeline routes
    • Perform isometric drawings, pipe construction drawings (Spoolgen) to support construction (if any)
    • Produce documents related to surface preparation, metal structure coating
    • Create technical calculation sheets
    • Prepare design documents for ventilation, air conditioning systems (HVAC)
    • Perform quantity take-offs.
  • Take on job positions in specific projects as assigned by the Head of the Industrial Department and perform duties according to the job description in the projects.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Department/Division leadership, as directed

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduated from university in majors such as mechanical engineering, mechatronics, pipeline engineering, machine manufacturing, or equivalent.
  • Solid grasp of basic professional knowledge, specialized technical standards, and experience in design and engineering for onshore and offshore oil and gas projects, chemical plants, and industry.
  • English: TOEIC 600 or equivalent,
    • English Communication: Fluent.
    • Technical English: Understand specialized documents.
  • Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, …), AutoCAD, mechanical and pipeline design software (PVElite, Ceasar II, …).
  • Problem-solving skills, evaluation/presentation/presentation skills
  • Knowledge and application of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 quality management systems
  • Skills in calculation, drawing execution
  • Skills in building 3D models, using software
  • Teamwork skills
  • Internal training/coaching skills
  • Analytical and synthesis skills.
