JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Assist the Department Head in managing and monitoring project contracts; manage, monitor, and support the implementation of projects and tasks assigned/delegated to related units within the Corporation
  • Understand and perform the functions and duties of a marine engineer, including watch-keeping, maintenance, and repair, undertaken by crew members on ships/floating vessels
  • Accurately assess the technical condition of each component and detail in the machinery systems of ships/floating vessels to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Responsible for the quality and progress of the assigned part of the project/work
  • Participate in bidding teams, understand maritime machinery-related documents in tender dossiers, breakdown bidding quantities, and evaluate technical aspects of suppliers’ bids to complete tender documents as per schedule
  • Participate in detailed planning for the design and manufacture of maritime machinery to ensure overall project schedule
  • Study documents, standards, and prepare templates for projects to perform tasks
  • Prepare technical specifications, request for quotations (RFQ), participate in evaluating TBC, TBE for packages as assigned by the Department Head
  • Participate in inspecting and monitoring procurement packages
  • Draw and interpret technical drawings using AutoCAD
  • Check and report on design changes, manufacturing of maritime machinery. Propose additional material purchases for adjustments
  • Coordinate and connect relevant parties to clarify interface-related tasks
  • Calculate variations outside the scope of work (variation order)
  • Participate in logistics procedures to expedite procurement, import, and export of equipment for machinery design and manufacturing
  • Directly supervise the manufacturing, transportation, installation, and testing of maritime machinery at the site (onshore & offshore), ensuring machinery is manufactured and load-tested according to the proper procedures and standards
  • Monitor, regularly and periodically, conduct inspections and supervision at the office of Units, contractors operating FSO, FPSO, MOPU to ensure operational compliance with contract conditions, regulations, and standards, propose remedial and improvement measures for the O&M process by the contractor, unit
  • Develop plans and coordinate with partners to conduct regular and ad-hoc audits on offshore floating units, ensuring that systems operate safely and effectively, maintain and extend the lifespan of assets; propose solutions and system improvements
  • Monitor and manage repair work for incidents, major repairs of equipment on floating storage units FSO, FPSO, MOPU
  • Manage the procurement of spare parts for floating storage units FSO, FPSO, MOPU of the Unit, operating contractors, ensuring sufficient backup resources for replacements when necessary
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Department/Division leadership.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduated from a regular university program or higher in one of the following majors: Ship machine operation/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in maritime machinery operations, capable of working at sea;
  • Knowledgeable about ship design and new shipbuilding..
  • English: TOEIC 600 or equivalent
    • English Communication: Fluent.
    • Technical English: Able to understand specialized documents.
  • Minimum achievement of the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent;
  • Proficient in MS Project, Outlook, ACAD, the internet, and other specialized software.
  • Use of specialized software: Navisworks, ACAD, DWG TrueView
  • Bidding processes
  • Management systems according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards
  • Project management skills
  • Drawing and interpreting technical drawings
  • Occupational safety training in production
  • Safety certificates for sea travel & helicopter rescue operations.
  • Deep understanding in the field of maritime machinery operations and maintenance, well-versed in standards applicable in technical exchanges
  • Clear understanding of job requirements in the design, transport, installation, and testing of maritime machinery in project specifications
  • Industrious and proactive attitude, strict discipline for working on floating vessels (under stressful and challenging conditions)
  • Clear understanding of the policies and regulations of the Corporation, its member units, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, and relevant state laws
  • Good health, high responsibility, creativity, and enthusiasm at work.
