Job Purpose:

Providing day-to-day corrosion protection engineering activities, and report directly to the Lead Anti-Corrosion Engineer and/or Engineering Manager.

General Description:
Directly reporting to Lead Anti-Corrosion Engineer and/or Engineering Manager with the major responsibilities as followings:

  • Perform corrosion analysis and material selection studies for offshore Oil and Gas facilities involving systems such as oil separation and stabilization, gas compression, produced water treatment, seawater treatment, seawater injection, utilities, subsea pipeline, and marine systems.
  • Prepare Corrosion Assessment and Material Selection Report. Definition of the anti-corrosion strategy using CP/ Coating/ Painting/ Chemical/ CRA in order to optimize quality and costs.
  • Support on the preparation for Piping, Valves, Structure, Equipment, and Systems Requisition Specifications.
  • Liaise with other disciplines for the development of corrosion monitoring strategies, optimization of chemical selection/ dosage/ general requirements.
  • Produce deliverables as per project requirement. Provide idea or way out related with corrosion issues, etc. Raise any issues which affect the quality, schedule or integrity of the design to Engineering Manager / Lead Anti-Corrosion Engineer.
  • IDC coordination with other discipline, weekly reporting drafting progress, discuss the changes, difficulties or issues found in engineering documents/drawings with Lead Anti- Corrosion Engineer.
  • Assist the Lead Anti-Corrosion Engineer in ensuring that all design input data are complete, clear and fit to use.
  • Assist the Lead Anti-Corrosion Engineer in ensuring that the appropriate international codes, regulations, standards, practices and client rules are adhered to, and ensuring good quality design outputs as per relevant procedures.
  • Support and participate in Safety reviews where applicable.
  • Transfer knowledge and provide training to junior engineer as assigned by Engineering Manager / Lead Anti-Corrosion Engineer.
  • Implementing other assignments as required by Engineering Manager / Lead Anti-Corrosion Engineer.

Qualifications and Work Experience required:

Qualification:
The jobholder should hold a Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Corrosion Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or closely related Engineering of Oil and Gas industry.

Experience & Requirements:
The job holder should have the following:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in oil and gas industry with focus on materials/corrosion, has minimum 3 years of experience in Cathodic protection design, preferred offshore oil and gas sector.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Senior Anti-Corrosion Engineer position for offshore processing platform.
  • Own NACE Cathodic Protection Certification will be an advantageous. Extensive experience with corrosion control and corrosion management in the oil and gas industry. Skilled in corrosion principles, corrosion control, corrosion management, pipeline inspection and maintenance.
  • Knowledgeable about subsurface and surface oil field facilities and processes.
  • Must be a skilled used of appropriate corrosion assessment software (i.e. Predict, ECE, Socrates, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of applicable Codes, Standards and certification requirements for offshore facilities, particularly relating to safety of design.
  • A good command of English both verbal and written.
  • Have ability to organize own work and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work in team environment.
