Job Purpose:

Providing day-to-day HVAC engineering activities, and report directly to the Lead Engineer.

General Description:

Directly reporting to Lead Engineer with the major responsibilities as followings:

  • Responsibility shall be for HVAC Design and Specification of HVAC system, in accordance with Offshore Oil and Gas industry practice and in compliance with international codes, standards, legislative and/or regulatory requirements. Ensure that all specifications, datasheets, calculations, equipment sizing, drawings, D&ID etc. are correctly performed and checked before approval for procurement; but not limit as below:
  • Produce deliverables as per project requirement, including but not limited to: Cooling load calculations, philosophy, preparation of HVAC equipment datasheets, HVAC system specifications. Provide idea or way out related with HVAC issues, etc. Oversee HVAC design activity, raise any issues which affect the quality, schedule or integrity of the design to Engineering Manager / Lead Engineer.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and recommend technical solutions for HVAC engineering.
  • Review and check HVAC deliverables and those from other disciplines where they interface with the HVAC design.
  • Supervise activities of other engineers working on HVAC design and procurement; providing training and guidance for junior engineers.
  • Review vendor data and ensure that the equipment and packages supplied comply with company requirements as defined in the purchase documents, where applicable.
  • IDC coordination with other discipline, weekly reporting drafting progress, discuss the changes, difficulties or issues found in drawings/documents with Lead Engineer.
  • Assist the Lead Engineer in ensuring that all design input data are complete, clear and fit to use.
  • Assist the Lead Engineer in ensuring that the appropriate international codes, regulations, standards, practices and client rules are adhered to, and ensuring good quality design outputs as per relevant procedures.
  • Participate in Safety reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and model reviews where applicable.
  • Implementing other assignments as required by Engineering Manager / Lead Engineer.

Qualifications and Work Experience required

Qualification:

The jobholder should hold a Bachelor Degree or higher in HVAC Engineering or closely related Engineering.

Experience & Requirements:

The job holder should have the following:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in oil and gas, must have significant HVAC design experience, including offshore oil or gas production facilities.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Senior HVAC Engineer position for offshore processing platform.
  • Deep knowledge of HVAC system applicable to offshore facilities.
  • Deep understanding of applicable Codes, Standards and certification requirements for HVAC system of offshore facilities, particularly relating to safety of design.
  • Broad experience of HVAC system equipment, installation, operation, testing and commissioning.
  • Good understanding of offshore oil and gas safety, particularly relating to HVAC system. A broad understanding of other aspects of facilities including process, instrumentation and structure as they relate to the HVAC equipment.
  • Computer skill: Office software, HVAC design/calculation software, HAP, other design software.
  • Good communication and effectively in the English language (written and oral)
  • Tolerance for stressful and family separation/ disorder situations.
  • Good computer skills with MS Office, specialized software.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
