Job Purpose:

  • Providing day-to-day naval engineering activities and ensure timely completion to the required quality standards.

General Description:

  • Develop Naval Design Basis, Philosophies, Reports, Specifications and Drawings. Conduct various naval calculations & analyses, specifications, procedures and drawings or initiate the preliminary design to support decision making as assigned by Lead Structural Engineer.
  • Produce deliverables as per project requirement. Provide idea or way out related with naval issues, etc. Raise any issues which affect the quality, schedule or integrity of the design to Engineering Manager / Lead Naval Engineer.
  • Ensure alignment with other disciplines on the development of naval deliverables. Review and check structural deliverables and those from other disciplines where they interface with the naval designs / drawings.
  • IDC coordination with other disciplines, weekly reporting drafting progress, discuss the changes, difficulties or issues found in drawings/documents with Lead Naval Engineer.
  • Assist the Lead Naval Engineer in ensuring that all design input data are complete, clear and fit to use, including metocean, vessel and flot information, etc.
  • Assist the Lead Naval Engineer in ensuring that the appropriate international codes, regulations, standards, practices and client rules are adhered to, and ensuring good quality design outputs as per relevant procedures.
  • Responsible for checking calculations done by Naval Engineers.
  • Participate in Safety reviews and model reviews where applicable.
  • Transfer knowledge and provide training to junior engineer as assigned by Engineering Manager / Lead Naval Engineer.
  • Implementing other assignments as required by Engineering Manager / Lead Naval Engineer.

Qualifications and Work Experience required:

Qualification:
The jobholder should hold a Bachelor Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or closely related Engineering.

Experience & Requirements:

  • A minimum of 07 years of experience in Naval Architecture for offshore oil & gas projects.
  • A minimum 03 years of Senior Naval Engineer position for offshore platform.
  • Deep knowledge of design, construction, load-out, transportation and installation of offshore structures (complex topsides/jackets or higher scale).
  • Deep      knowledge    of    naval    architecture,     engineering    analyses,     and    calculations Structural/Trim/Stability/Damage/Seakeeping/ect.).
  • Good knowledge of offshore structure installation/transportation methods.
  • Deep understanding of applicable Codes, Standards and certification requirements for offshore facilities, particularly relating to safety of design.
  • Experienced in interface and liaison with ABS, DNV, Noble Delton and Other Regulatory Agencies.
  • Must be a skilled used of Skilled in using the proprietary Naval analysis software (i.e. SESAM, MOSES, etc), Autocad.
  • A good command of English both verbal and written.
  • Have ability to organize own work and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work in team environment.
  • Attention to detail.
