Job Purpose:

  • Providing day-to-day process engineering activities, and report directly to the Lead Process Engineer and/or Engineering Manager.

General Description:

Directly reporting to Lead Process Engineer and/or Engineering Manager with the major responsibilities as followings:

  • Develop Process Design Basis, Process Design Criteria, Philosophies, Reports, design studies and check the drawings, datasheets, etc.
  • Produce deliverables as per project requirement. Provide idea or way out related with process issues, etc. Raise any issues which affect the quality, schedule or integrity of the design to Engineering Manager / Lead Process Engineer.
  • Conduct various process calculations or initiate the preliminary design to support decision making process as assigned by Lead Process Engineer.
  • Ensure alignment with other disciplines on the development of P&IDs, C&E Matrix, control, operating and shutdown philosophies, datasheet, technical specifications and others.
  • IDC coordination with other discipline, weekly reporting drafting progress, discuss the changes, difficulties or issues found in drawings/documents with Lead Process Engineer.
  • Assist the Lead Process Engineer in ensuring that all design input data are complete, clear and fit to use.
  • Assist the Lead Process Engineer in ensuring that the appropriate international codes, regulations, standards, practices and client rules are adhered to, and ensuring good quality design outputs as per relevant procedures.
  • Participate in Safety reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and model reviews where applicable.
  • Support safety engineering activities including dispersion modeling, explosion modeling, QRA and other studies as required.
  • Oversee review of vendor documentation for purchased equipment and approve final documents, if required.
  • Transfer knowledge and provide training to junior engineer as assigned by Engineering Manager / Lead Process Engineer.
  • Implementing other assignments as required by Engineering Manager / Lead Process Engineer.

Qualifications and Work Experience required:

Qualification:
The jobholder should hold a Bachelor Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or closely related Engineering of Oil and Gas industry.

Experience & Requirements:

The job holder should have the following:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in oil and gas, must have significant process design experience, including offshore oil or gas production facilities. Some exposure to operations and commissioning preferable.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Senior Process Engineer position for offshore processing platform.
  • Deep knowledge of oil and gas processing systems, system design and equipment sizing and specification, applicable to offshore facilities. Knowledge to include as a minimum, separation, dehydration, compression, heating/cooling, heat exchanging, pumping and utility systems.
  • Experienced in developing all process philosophies, design criteria, simulation methodology, PFD’s, UFD’s, SFD’s, P&ID’s, SAFE Charts, C&E Matrix and equipment/instrument data sheets.
  • Must be a skilled used of HYSYS/ or UNISIM, FLARENET/ or UniSim Flare and FLARESIM. Skills in PIPESIM and OLGA would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of control and shutdown systems and design requirements.
  • A deep understanding of Process safety and design codes, standards and regulations.
  • Good understanding of methodology for safety assessment of process systems including HAZOP, HAZID and SIL assessment.
  • A broad understanding of other aspects of facilities including process, instrumentation and pipeline and mechanical as they relate to the process design.
  • A good command of English both verbal and written.
  • Have ability to organize own work and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work in team environment.
